It all started when I saw pictures from one of my favorite blogger's house. It was clean, simple, and relaxing. Just looking at the pictures made me feel like I could think more clearly. Sooo, Saturday morning I got up and started purging.
The purging continued for two days straight. I only took breaks for Mexican food, Sushi, and a few hot chocolates with The Cosby's. The rest of the time, the record player was blaring, a cold beverage was always by my side, and the boxes and trash bags were overflowing. There's not a drawer, a corner, a cabinet, a trunk, a closet, or an inch under any bed that hasn't been touched. And guess what? I can breathe. The "excess" is gone and it. feels. good.
How was your Labor Day weekend?

That sounds so great! I love to go through and get rid of the excess stuff.
Ahhh I love doing this. We move every 6-8 months and I find such therapy in purging! I'm a new follower from today and I look forward to reading more from you :)
love this post! we too, are purging all of the unnecessary junk and having a yard sale this weekend! hoping to make some money, and have a much lighter house :) hope you have a fabulous week :D
I love a good purge - clean and simple is my happy place! I dream of living a life surrounded by basics, the kind of life that is so light it could be picked up and moved in a heart beat... not there now, but always looking for a life of less "stuff"

I did the same thing this weekend. Not the cleaning part but the unplugging part. It was very refreshing to not open the computer all weekend. We spent our time just soaking up the of of summer. :)
Ahhh you got me at "Mexican food and sushi!" That describes a perfect weekend to me. :) Mine was spent at a wedding in Knoxville, TN & reminiscing the day I got engaged, September 1, 2011. It's so hard to believe it's been a year!
Happy Tuesday,

This really, REALLY makes me want to do the same thing, and just purge the crap out of all my crap. For real though.

that sounds amazing! I hate clutter and I love the refreshing feeling of cleaning everything out and getting rid of excess! I cleaned out my drawers, but that's it. Small victories :)
good job on the purging! feels so nice, right? bravo!
I need to do some purging myself! Nice work, Mae!
that sounds awesome! and I always break for sushi :)
Love this! We did this a few weekends ago and it was SO nice! I still need to round up some more stuff to tote off to goodwill though!
Well ... this just inspired me to purge even more. Hmmm. This could get a little crazy. ;)
Proud of you and I'm sure it felt great!
