This weekend was
great and I hope yours was too. Danielle (my friend from TX) flew
in, I had an Arbonne party at my house Friday night, I saw the Katy Perry 3D
movie (amazing) Saturday afternoon, celebrated a friend’s birthday Saturday
night, had breakfast at my favorite local diner this morning and then took Danielle back
to the airport... then I went and got a manicure with my friend Elizabeth, (hello, cheap therapy session...) followed by an amazing dinner at their house, (homemade potato and asparagus
soup…wowza. That stuff is gooood.) Did I mention they live across the street? Good golly I love our neighborhood.
Here's the latest:
It's been 6 weeks since our court date. The original estimate given to us for the processing of the adoption decree and birth certificate was 6 weeks, so we're still in the normal waiting period for those documents... However, if history proves as any lesson, I'm trying to brace myself for another long stretch of waiting...SO if it crosses your mind...please pray that Abiella's health continues to improve and that she is filled with a constant joy, an all-encompassing peace and a deep sense of security.
Also, Lindsay over at Trial by Sapphire asked me to write about my experience as an adoptive mama thus far. I truly enjoyed writing that post and I am beyond honored that she published it on her blog today!! So go check it out!! (Lindsay is an amazing woman and a powerful advocate for children in the foster care system. You can read about her amazing work as a CASA here.)
Have a blessed Monday folks!

Saying hello from Lindsay's blog. I'm so glad you shared your story and I look forward to following along. My husband and I would love to adopt someday :)
Thanks so much for sharing your story, Mae. I found it on Lindsay's blog. My parents adopted my little brother and it was a long and difficult process, but it was worth it. A co-worker of mine also just brought home a little girl from Ethiopia as well. It's amazing thing and I wish you the best of luck!
I'm still praying for you guys! Abiella will be home soon!
XoXo
I hope every things works out for you fine and soon! Also, love the quote on peace, so true :)

I read all your guest posts on other blogs because they were so interesting! Now i finally landed here to say hello. You are super cool, from marrying a musician to going to a bar in pjs, from thinking you were super hot to adopting a girl and develop such a bond with her even prior to first meeting with her.
I'm following you for more interesting stories and i don't think that i can stop myself from coming over to browse your archives from time to time.
