You know those nights when you literally
Can
Not
Sleep?
Last night was one of those nights. I went to bed around 1 am and after 4 hours of tossing, turning, and thinking, I got up, walked around the house, sat under a blanket in the dark living room, browsed the internet and watched the moon disappear and the sun light-up the sky.
There is a cornucopia of exciting, thought-provoking, random things going on in our lives and I just can’t seem to shut my brain off. (I like to use the word "cornucopia" as often as possible during the months of September, October, and November. Get ready.)
I’m hoping last night’s restlessness will warrant a good night’s sleep tonight.
Although, I do not trust my brain to turn off, even in its most exhausted state.
We'll see.
In other news, I finished all my school work with 11 hours to spare yesterday. Yes! I had a fantastic weekend with my friend Danielle, who was visiting from TX. (more on that later.) I witnessed a beautiful wedding in Georgia, enjoyed a night of mind-blowing music at The Blue Bird, and consumed about 20,000 calories of all the finer foods in life. It was a good 3 days.
Now I’m chugging coffee, gaining the courage to see what assignments are due this week, and basking in the excitement that this came in my produce share last week:
Although I have no idea how to cook 3 of these items, I squealed like a kid in a candy store when I saw them staring back at me in the box.
These veggies mean it is officially fall!
Gourds,
Boots,
Scarves,
Mums,
Pumpkin Spice Lattes…
It’s all happening.
And I couldn’t be happier.
