This weekend was super busy and really great. I had breakfast with a great friend, took my first trip to McKay’s (I will describe this heavenly experience in more detail later), took a friend out to celebrate her new job, took advantage of Kohl’s Saturday early-bird special, co-hosted a baby shower, then moved the party to our neighborhood that night, wrote and submitted a paper for school, planned a trip to TX (special shout-out to Danielle), and finished my book “The Bean Trees.” Sunday night Sean returned and we enjoyed pizza, left-over cupcakes, a fresh salad (to cancel out the other two) and a marathon of our favorite show “American Pickers.”
As I think about the weekend and all the amazing friends and family in my life (many of whom I did not get to see this weekend) I’m reminded of a magnet my mom gave me with this quote,
“Call it a clan, call it a network, call it a tribe, call it a family. Whatever you call it, whoever you are, you need one.” Jane Howard (1935-1996)
Amen Jane, Amen.
